Marian Bates Appeal
I am sure you will have seen on TV and read in the newspapers of the violent and tragic events on 30th September when Marian was shot dead in her shop trying to protect her daughter from thieves.
Marian had been an active member of Nottingham North Inner Wheel for 20 years and her husband Victor Bates. a member of Mapperley Rotary Club has also given 25 years to Rotary service. The Rotary Club of Mapperley and Nottingham North Inner Wheel have established an appeal fund and intend to raise money in Marian’s memory to be applied for those charitable purposes that she had worked hard for and supported during her life of service to others.

The Rotary Club of Mapperley will hold the Trust Fund upon the following trust:-
To apply the Trust Fund towards such charities and charitable purposes that Marian Bates supported during her life.
The fund will be applied to such charities and such charitable purposes as the President for the time being of the Rotary Club of Mapperley shall decide after consultation with Marian’s family.
